The Dollyneck semi-trailer is Nicolas’ new equipment for transporting public works machinery.
It combines the advantages of hydraulic suspension with pendular axles (large load capacity and large suspension travel) with the maneuverability of a compact vehicle.
Nicolas’ patented Dollyneck system consists of an elevator gooseneck and one or more lines of pendular axles.
Together, this makes it easy for the convoy to reach any work site (over winding roads and uneven ground, etc.) and yet to remain first category for returning empty (depending on the configuration).
The axles can be lifted to limit the wear on the tires when the semi-trailer is not loaded.
The system for rapid coupling to the platform makes for easy and fast loading and unloading operations thanks to reduced coupling and uncoupling operations.
The ease with which the integrated load-dividing dolly orients the suspension makes it possible to handle tight turns and the growing number of traffic circles.
There are several possible platform widths, which can be telescoping, to load any type of machine on tracks or tires.
The rear train has the same hydraulic suspension with pendular axles as the Dollyneck. With their large turning radius and travel, this suspension improves convoy maneuverability, especially when approachig the work site.
The automatic steering and axle realignment system increases safety.
A pit integrated in the chassis of the rear train is provided to place the shovel arm or any or equipment to reduce the convoy height.
Each part of the Dollyneck semi-trailer is optimized to offer a maximum payload for minimum overall dimensions and the highest-performance maneuverability in its category.
